K - 12th Grade

ACE (Accelerated Christian Learning)

Our entire K-12 school uses the same curriculum: the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) system. Instead of traditional teacher-led classrooms for all subjects, students will conduct their core subjects independently (with teacher guidance and accountability), and at their own personal level of learning. This level is determined through an academic diagnostic assessment, which we administer to all incoming students.

This curriculum has proven to be flexible and adaptable to many different learning styles, and we have seen a variety of learners excel within it. That being said, we realize it is not for everyone. If you would like more information about how this system works and to explore whether your child would be successful in it, please contact us to set up a visit.

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten class focuses on reading readiness, with a heavy emphasis on phonics knowledge and number skills, as well as learning to listen for longer periods of time. This class is teacher-led in a more traditional sense, and each student will master these skills before moving forward as a class.

1st Grade (ABC)

The ABC (first grade) class takes emerging readers and turns them into independent readers. The first part of the year is heavy on teacher-leadership as they review and completely master their phonics and beginning reading skills. When they’ve completed the ABC program, they become full-fledged first graders, working semi-independently, training them to enter the older learning center in second grade.

2nd – 12th Grade

In the ACE curriculum, the responsibility for learning is placed on the students. Instead of being spoon-fed information to be repeated on tests, the student will develop academic skills that will benefit them far beyond the reaches of OGC. They learn to set and reach daily goals, as well as long-term goals. They master every subject matter before moving on to new material. Because it’s catered to their own performance level, they won’t be left behind in a lock-stepped class or slowed in their progress.
